A pair of Louis XVI firedogs formed of two fluted and truncated columns, gathered by a laurel frieze surmounted by a Vitruvian scroll frieze. The first and most important column is encircled by an oak leaf frieze and topped by a tripod flaming urn. The second column, simply moulded at the base ends by a pinecone.

Several almost identical firedogs are recorded in public and private collections. One pair is in the Petit Trianon in Versailles, another one is in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
